Cristiano Ronaldo Jr Receives First Portugal U17 Call-Up
Cristiano Ronaldo Jr has received his first call-up to the Portugal U17 national team, marking another significant milestone in the development of the young forward.
The 16-year-old, who currently plays for Al-Nassr’s youth team, has been included in Portugal’s 23-man squad for the first qualifying round of the 2027 UEFA European Under-17 Championship.
The squad was selected by head coach Filipe Ramos as Portugal prepare to compete against Andorra, Bulgaria and Serbia in Group 6.
A New Chapter in His International Career
The latest selection represents Ronaldo Jr’s first appearance at U17 level, but it is not his first experience representing Portugal’s youth teams.
He has previously featured for Portugal at U15 and U16 levels, continuing to build his international experience while developing his game at club level.
His progress has attracted attention because of his famous footballing background, but this call-up gives him another opportunity to establish himself through his own performances.
Portugal’s U17 Qualifying Fixtures
Portugal will play all three group matches at Cidade do Futebol in Oeiras, with the fixtures scheduled as follows:
Date| Fixture November 11, 2026| Portugal vs Andorra November 14, 2026| Portugal vs Bulgaria November 17, 2026| Portugal vs Serbia
The matches will determine Portugal’s progress in the qualifying campaign for the 2027 UEFA European U17 Championship.
Continuing the Ronaldo Football Legacy
Cristiano Ronaldo Jr’s progress through Portugal’s youth teams is another important chapter in the football journey of the Ronaldo family.
While comparisons with his father are inevitable, the young forward now has an opportunity to gain valuable international experience and demonstrate his ability on the pitch.
His first Portugal U17 call-up is an encouraging step, and attention will turn to how he performs during the upcoming qualifying matches.
