Vitinha Hopes Cristiano Ronaldo Returns to Portugal National Team

Portugal midfielder Vitinha has expressed his hope that Cristiano Ronaldo will return to the national team, saying that everyone wants the situation surrounding the captain to be resolved.

Speaking to TNT Sports after Paris Saint-Germain’s impressive 4–2 victory over Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League, Vitinha addressed the recent turbulence surrounding Portugal and Ronaldo.

“I hope Cristiano Ronaldo returns with the national team. All I can do is hope he comes back and that everything is okay,” Vitinha said.

“We all want that; I hope it happens!”

Vitinha Wants Ronaldo Back

Vitinha acknowledged that the recent international break had been difficult, describing it as a period filled with emotions.

The PSG midfielder avoided taking sides in the disagreement but made his position clear: he wants Ronaldo to return and the situation to be resolved peacefully.

His comments will offer encouragement to Portugal supporters hoping to see their captain back in the national team setup.

What Happened Between Ronaldo and Portugal?

Ronaldo's departure from Portugal's national team camp followed reported tensions involving head coach Jorge Jesus and questions about his role in the team.

The incident sparked widespread discussion about the captain's future with the national side. Ronaldo subsequently addressed the situation publicly, while the Portuguese Football Federation initiated disciplinary proceedings.

The situation remains subject to the federation's disciplinary process, meaning Ronaldo's return should not be treated as confirmed.

Portugal Fans Await the Next Chapter

Ronaldo remains one of the most influential figures in Portuguese football, and his future with the national team is attracting significant attention.

Vitinha's statement reflects his hope that the disagreement can be resolved and that the captain can rejoin his teammates.

Whether Ronaldo returns will depend on how the situation develops in the coming weeks.
