Michael Carrick Confirms Lisandro Martínez Available for Leeds Clash as Manchester United Close Case

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has confirmed that Lisandro Martínez is available for Sunday's Premier League clash against Leeds United after the defender apologised for his recent criticism of the club's leadership.

The Argentine centre-back attracted attention after expressing his frustration with aspects of Manchester United's recruitment and direction following the team's 2–0 defeat to Atlético Madrid. His comments sparked discussions about internal tensions at Old Trafford and the relationship between the player and the club's management.

Martínez Apologises After Talks with Carrick

According to reports, Martínez held discussions with Carrick and senior club figures before apologising for his remarks. The conversations appear to have helped resolve the situation, allowing the defender to return his focus to football.

Carrick has indicated that the matter has been settled, playing down suggestions of an ongoing dispute within the squad. His response suggests that Manchester United are keen to move forward without allowing the situation to distract the team from its upcoming fixtures.

Carrick: Manchester United Is Bigger Than Any Individual

Carrick also emphasised the importance of putting the club first, reinforcing the principle that no individual is bigger than Manchester United.

With the issue now considered resolved, Martínez is available for selection ahead of the Leeds encounter. His availability could provide a boost to United's defensive options as they prepare for a demanding Premier League fixture.

Although reports have circulated about possible disciplinary action, the club has not publicly confirmed the details. The focus now shifts to the match and whether Martínez will feature in Carrick's starting lineup.

Attention Turns to Leeds United

Manchester United will hope to put the controversy behind them and deliver a strong performance against Leeds. For Martínez, the game presents an opportunity to move beyond the headlines and demonstrate his commitment through his performances on the pitch.

What do you think? Was Michael Carrick right to close the matter quickly, or should Manchester United have handled the situation differently?
