Bayern Munich Thrash Leipzig 6–1 as Luis Díaz Scores Hat-Trick

Bayern Munich Run Riot Against Leipzig as Luis Díaz Delivers a Hat-Trick

Bayern Munich produced a statement performance at the Allianz Arena, sweeping aside RB Leipzig 6–1 in the Bundesliga on 17 October 2026. Luis Díaz stole the spotlight with three goals, while Michael Olise and Harry Kane also played major roles in a memorable attacking display.

Díaz Takes Centre Stage

Bayern wasted little time making their intentions clear. Díaz opened the scoring in the 12th minute, finishing a move created by Joshua Kimmich to give the hosts an early advantage.

The Colombian winger continued to trouble Leipzig's defence and turned provider in the 26th minute, setting up Aleksandar Pavlović to double Bayern's lead. Michael Olise then added a third in the 34th minute, leaving the visitors facing a difficult task before half-time.

Bayern Turn Up the Pressure

Leipzig needed a strong response after the break, but Bayern had other ideas. Díaz struck again in the 47th minute before Kane made it 5–0 in the 53rd minute, marking his 100th Bundesliga appearance with a goal.

Díaz completed his hat-trick in the 69th minute, capping a superb individual performance and pushing Bayern's advantage to five goals.

RB Leipzig managed a late consolation through Andrija Maksimović in the 90th minute plus stoppage time, but it did little to change the story of a match dominated by the home side.

Final score: Bayern Munich 6–1 RB Leipzig.

Olise and Kane Add More Firepower

Díaz deservedly took the headlines, but Bayern's attacking strength was about more than one player.

Olise contributed a goal and an assist, while Kane scored once and helped create opportunities for his teammates. Pavlović also made his mark with a well-taken finish.

The result showcased the variety in Bayern's attack, with different players contributing to a performance that Leipzig struggled to contain.

A Timely Boost for Bayern

After dropping points in recent matches, Bayern responded with a convincing victory that restored momentum and confidence. The performance also gave the team a strong platform ahead of its upcoming European challenge.

For Leipzig, the heavy defeat will raise questions about their defensive organisation and their ability to cope with high-intensity opponents away from home.

Bayern, meanwhile, will hope to carry this attacking rhythm into their next fixtures.

Who Was Your Man of the Match?

Luis Díaz's hat-trick makes him an obvious contender, but Olise, Kane and Pavlović also made important contributions.
